Art Burrill's collection Part Two
Here, another character from my childhood, Harry B. Jenkins, impatiently awaits the change of the signal by the dispatcher so his short local can proceed from Eaton. Harry B. Jenkins later conductored the Ft. Collins local and as they would pass a group of children, they would throw candy from the caboose. This human aspect of railroading has been lost in later years. It's part of the heritage of the Union Pacific in Northern Colorado.

UP2711 is another "Mikado" class steamer, so often used on Union Pacific for various duties. Here it awaits it's assignment as the Eaton switch power. Undoubtedly, not long after this, UP2711 met the scrappers torch.
