Cumbres and Toltec Western Charm

The top photo shows the opening day return train from Osier to Antonito. The Aspen were green and beautiful despite a rather dry year. This is at Sublette, within a half mile of the Colorado state line.

Hangman's Trestle won that title because someone was lynched on this bridge in the late part of the 19th Century. This photo over 100 years later shows D&RGW #489 racing over that fabled location with a load of happy fans in the final stretch just outside Antonito.
