If I were to ever claim to have a favorite Tunnel
Motor, here is that locomotive, DRGW5390. I was invited into the cab of that
locomotive by a very friendly engineer. The top photo shows the locomotive
nearing "Rocky" just south of the Rocky Flats facility northwest of Denver
with a heavily powered mixed freight headed for Grand Junction and eventually
Salt Lake City. The UP Symbol for this train was M-DV-RO, Manifest Denver to
Roper Yard in Salt Lake City. This is a daily train at the moment, each
direction.
